Since vernacular architecture is a highly functional design intended specifically for local climatic conditions and a step towards carbon zero existence, the use of local materials during the construction of our resort made The Nest adaptive and responsive to changing weather conditions. Automation for conserving energy and water
The Nest Resort takes special care in conserving electricity and water usage through automation. Using key cards to use electric equipment within hotel rooms, implementing motion-sensing faucets for water usage, using 100% natural or organic material, minimizing the generation of waste through reduction at source, reusing and recycling waste, we try to conserve the use of energy and manage waste without having any harmful impact on nature.
Solar-powered installation for Zero Carbon emissions
The Nest aims to instill environmental responsibility as a guiding principle in all its operations. As a step to further strengthen our commitment to Zero Carbon emissions and environmental sustainability, we at Nest use solar power in all our daily operations. A highly, energy-efficient choice for the conscious traveler, we aim to keep our surroundings free from any carbon emissions that may harm the ecosystem.
Drip irrigation
The Nest Resort has some of the most mesmerizing lawns and majestic green landscapes you will ever see. By leveraging on the remarkable benefits of drip irrigation methods, we have been able to create and sustain greenery at our eco-resort quite efficiently. Lending our hand in conserving water, drip irrigation has been instrumental in creating an eco-friendly approach to saving water usage as well as maintaining a healthy and vibrant atmosphere at The Nest.
Rainwater harvesting
Another step towards saving and conserving water, we, at Nest have rainwater harvesting systems in our hotel to help maintain the level of natural ground-water tables. Proving to be an excellent source of water for irrigation, rainwater harvesting has led to some of the healthiest vegetation at The Nest since the water is free from contaminants like chlorine and fluoride.
Green Surroundings
A ‘Green Environment’ initiative, The Nest Resort plays an important role in conserving the quality of the soil. To ensure that the social stays fertile and rich in its elemental form, we have taken up the initiative of planting more trees in and around The Nest Resort. This has been instrumental in preventing soil erosion due to rain and wind and has improved the overall quality and health of vegetation in the region.
Vermi Compost
Vermicompost or worm composting is the way to reduce and recycle organic waste without the use of any chemicals. Aiming for a zero-waste environment, The Nest Resort employs the use of vermicomposting to reduce and recycle kitchen and other green waste and also to create a safe, natural and nutrient-rich soil composition.
